A Slow Happy Birthday

One of my daughters-in-law's birthday is coming up.  She enjoys snail collectables. This is for her.

The snail stamp and die is by Avery Elle, colored with Copics.  The Happy Birthday dies are by Technique Tuesday. I couldn't quite get them to fit how I'd like.  Let's just say that snail is slippery, and the birthday slid down :)

I haven't gotten to finish the inside yet.  Soon.
That's it for now.  Short and Sweet.  Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your evening.

Happy Father's Day

Hello!! Here's another father's day card-- this one for my younger son. His first baby, Theo was born in the fall.

When I saw this stamp by Colorado Craft Company, I knew I had to get and use it.  It reminds me so much of this photo of Craig and Theo - both fathers catching up on the news.

Challenges:

  1. Fusion Card Challenge - I like the idea of an image framed in the corner.  I also took the colors of turquoise, gray, and off white from the seashell jar
  2. The Male Room - Dads & Grads
  3. Stinkin' Inkers - You're the Man
  4. Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies
  5. Always Fun Challenges - I Love my Dad
  6. NBUS - Never Before Used Stuff

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Colorado Craft Company; Lawn Fawn (small mice inside)
  • Dies: Colorado Craft Company, and basic rectangle and frame die
  • Papers: DCWV; silver: Tim Holtz

Hope you are enjoying a beautiful day. Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Daddy to Bee

Hello, and welcome. Father's Day is quickly approaching!
My older son is going to be a father for the first time. YaY!! We are so very thrilled!!!! Sadly he lives in another state, so we'll not be able to visit as often as we'd like.  But on the plus side we're retired, fully vaccinated and a bit more comfortable with traveling. And there's always facetime. 😀

Challenges:

Supplies:
  • Papers: Authentique
  • Stamps & dies: Your next stamp (dad bee); MFT (baby bee & bee hive); sentiment combo of Honey Bee & Colorado Craft
  • Inside: Lawn Fawn (heart & bee); Technique Tuesday (Parenthood)
Here's a peek at the inside.
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.
Always bee yourself. Do your own sting.

Happy Anniversary

Hello!  Beach days will be here soon!
Our son's and daughter-in-law's anniversary is coming up. Eight years . . . time flies!  They enjoy the beach, so that inspired my paper heart selections.

My goal was to create the feeling of a
beach (sand at the bottom, sea,
sun,
sunset).  Jamie likes Disney movies, I was  able to find a small Nemo. The Happy Anniversary was stamped on a washed wood paper for the illusion of boardwalk.

The idea for this card was inspired by these 2 cards: My Life in Paper and Jennifer McGuire

Challenges:

Products used:

  • Heart Die: Memory Triple Stitched Hearts
  • Sentiments (inside): My Sentiments Exactly & Taylored Expressions
  • Pattern Paper: assorted scraps

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

The weather is getting warmer here. I'm looking forward to enjoying warm days at the beach.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Enjoy your day.

Christmas Stocking Thank You

A Xmas card in May!!?? Yup.  It's actually a Thank you for a lovely woman who helped complete a Xmas stocking for my "little Theo."
Challenges:
Backstory: My mom knit gorgeous Xmas stockings for her 3 children. Then she knit for our husbands, and her grandchildren. She knit each person's name onto the top of their stocking. As she was getting older she realized her family might outgrow her ability to continue knitting stockings.  So she made a "stash" of stockings for future family members.  As the oldest I am the "keeper of the stash".  Happily, mom's forecast came true.  Her family grew.  Eventually she was no longer able to knit the names on the stockings, and then she passed in 2019.  Along comes Theo (her 3rd great grandchild).
My sister-in-law found a lady who was able to knit names onto the stockings.  This thank you is for her.

Theo's stocking with his Mom's & Dad's

Supplies:

  • diecuts: Thank-you (Simon Says Stamps); stocking (Concord & 9th)
  • pattern paper: assorted (HoneyBee & DCWV & My Mind's Eye)

These stockings bring a smile to my heart. The tradition continues. Here's a peek at the inside:

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying a lovely spring day.
