Happy Anniversary

Hello!  Beach days will be here soon!
Our son's and daughter-in-law's anniversary is coming up. Eight years . . . time flies!  They enjoy the beach, so that inspired my paper heart selections.

My goal was to create the feeling of a
beach (sand at the bottom, sea,
sun,
sunset).  Jamie likes Disney movies, I was  able to find a small Nemo. The Happy Anniversary was stamped on a washed wood paper for the illusion of boardwalk.

The idea for this card was inspired by these 2 cards: My Life in Paper and Jennifer McGuire

Challenges:

Products used:

  • Heart Die: Memory Triple Stitched Hearts
  • Sentiments (inside): My Sentiments Exactly & Taylored Expressions
  • Pattern Paper: assorted scraps

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

The weather is getting warmer here. I'm looking forward to enjoying warm days at the beach.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Enjoy your day.

More Love

I made this card using the positive (?) part of the die cut from the card for my hubby, you can find HERE

There is NO Stamping on the front of the card -- only Die Cuts!  And they are varied brands . . . the frame heart was actually 2 heart dies layered to cut out the frame.  The pattern paper is a very old set from My Mind's Eye.

It was a bit time consuming to do these cards, because I actually made 7 of them for family. But any time in my craft room is always soothing to the mind and soul. And I really enjoyed the time.  And I still have many hearts left over to use for. . . . who knows.

I'm putting this into the following challenges:

Here is a picture of the inside:
The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  Now you can see why I made (and mailed) so many. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a closer look.  Stay safe, and stay well.
And Happy Valentine's Day to you.  Be sure to give yourself a hug today.

Love

It's almost Valentine's Day.  This is for my hubby.  There is not a bit of stamping on the front of this card -- oh my!!  The big heart and Love is a die from "I don't know".  It's a lovely company - LoL.  The other hearts are cut from assorted heart dies - the frame heart was cut by layering 2 heart dies. I used a texture embossing folder from Stampin Up.
The pattern papers are from a verrrrry old paper set from My Mind's Eye.

I'm putting this into the following challenges:

Squirrel !

This is for my hubby for our anniversary (next week - 41 years).
He often calls me a "squirrel" because I often change "direction" in the middle of something -- whether it's a conversation, or working on a chore / or other project, etc.  These guys are squirrels, although they look more like cats to me.

I used the colors from Color Throwdown

And this fits for Cardz for Galz - Cute Animals
Supplies:
Stamp:  Neat and Tangled
Dies:  Neat & Tangled, MFT (banner), unknown heart
Other: watercolors

Thanks for taking a look.
Until next time, Stay Safe.

Love Knows no Borders

So I got this awesome stamp set from Lil Inker Designs, which is, sadly, closing up.  And it just called out to me to do a Journal page using some of the sentiments.

I knew I wanted to make a statement about Love using this stamp set.  So I tried painting the continents and oceans -- I am NOT an artist. Like I didn't know that already - LOL!   So  I added more water and white paint to blur and make the background.  I stenciled the bottom of both pages. The mountains by Ken Oliver, the city by . . . ?

Then the pages sat for a while, while I figured out what to do.

I embossed the heart-map using one of the Brutus Monroe Night Shift embossing powders.  You can see in the photo to the left that when held one way, you'll see black, but in another way, you'll see the pink.  I cut apart the world and layered it on a red heart.

Sentiment strips, white hearts stencil (probably not needed), some journaling, and it was finally done.

I'm putting this onto the following challenge blogs.

1) Country View - January Challenge

2) Simon Says Monday Challenge - All Loved Up

3) Mix It Up Challenge - Anything Goes + optional Paper Piecing - does the heart count? I think not.

4) More Mixed Media - Anything Goes + optional blue (sorry no blue for this page)

5) Art Journal Journey - Hearts - some inspiration-

The stamp set still calls my name.  I know someday I'll make another layout using other sentiments.
As always, thanks for taking a look!
