I do have a stash of cards - most of them on the feminine side. So when my nephew-in-law's birthday came up, I did not really have a card for him. I've had this stamp for quite a while now, and have always wanted a chance to use it. Here is that chance :)
I used sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from Play Date Cafe .
Patrice over at The Old Back Porch has some great photography going on. She also has a 52 - Card Pick Up Challenge going on. . . to make one card a week for 52 weeks. Now on Tuesday, I am going back to work (I am a teacher). So my time for card-making will become very limited. I am not a fast creator. Ideas need to mull around in my head for a while. I start and stop my creations - sometimes they come out like the ideas in my head. . . sometimes not. Anyway the reason I told you all this is, that I think the challenge of one card a week (for the rest of the school year) will be a good one for me :)
On a personal note: (skip if you'd like)
Now it is Labor Day Weekend - a big BBQ weekend. Hubby got a call to invite us to a Q and bring a side dish. Me, I am not much of a cook, and I would just go to the local deli and get some type of salad. My husband really does not cook - except for an awesome breakfast, and to BBQ what I put before him. Once in a great while, he will get the urge to cook. And that is happening now, while I write this post. Here is the photo of his finished creation:
Here is the link for the recipe: Festive Pasta Salad - he said to let you know the tomatoes were his own idea :)
Looks yummy, and tastes good too!
supplies for "Rats" (the card, not the food)
- paper: cardstock: PTI (green), and unsure about the purple
- patterned paper: My Mind's Eye
- stamps: Whipper Snapper
- ink: Memento and Stampin Up
- colored with Copic markers
OMG, that card is ridiculously adorable! LOVE!! And thanks for the yummy recipe, too!
ReplyDelete(As for the puzzle pieces on my card ... I used them from an actual puzzle, which I'm sending, with the card, to my sister. I just used a teeny spot of glue so the pieces should pop right off the card and be useable for the puzzle. If you want to do a similar card and need pieces, check out your local thrift store. You can usually pick up used puzzles for next to nothing. xx)
This is adorable! It's got to be the cutest Rat around. Love your colors and the sketch you chose too! And that salad looks delicious!
