Over at Simplicity, Susan is hosting a One Layer Inspiration Challenge to use something from her Pinterest board. I found this leaf hanging which I love (I wanted to capture the picture for you, but this one wouldn't let me).
I, once again, used this sketch challenge from Less is More.
And I tried the technique from Paper Trey's Make It Monday. This week is called "double time bleaching" . Now I have never done bleaching with stamps. So this was a learning experience for me. And since this is a one layer card, I needed to be sure that the bleach did not "bleed" outside the main image panel. Here is my solution:
I used the removable tape to tape down the cling wrap to the areas that would not get the bleach.
After I was done stamping with the bleach and color, I thought the panel needed a bit more "umph". So I spritzed it with some Perfect Pearl Mist (in Sunflower Sparkle). Here is a close-up of that effect:
Supplies used:
Paper - Paper Trey Ink (terracotta)
Stamps - leaves: Stampin Up Gently Falling; sentiment: PTI
other: scallop embossing folder: sizzix (?), pearls, Perfect Pearls Mist, score board
Thanks for looking.
Super card, great autumnal feel - it'll be here before we know it

ReplyDeleteOh,and thank you for following me at My-Little-Crafty-Corner-lovely to have your company :) x
I haven't tried that bleaching technique because I am afraid that I'll get bleach everywhere! LOVE how this card turned out...and it's it cool how we both were inspired by the same photo and yet our cards are so different...I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, the bleaching was actually very easy - just be sure to prepare your work space before. I recommend that everyone should give it a try at least once. Chrissie from "Less is More" just said to be sure to clean the stamps right away, so they don't get "gooey". I look forward to seeing you trying this!
DeleteWhat a beautiful autumnal card, fab colours.

Hi Carol, I just visited Darnell's blog (http://www.djkardkreations.com/) and wanted to say Hello. I'm new to blogging also (Mar 2012), & I found that so many bloggers were so supportive with all the technical help I needed to get started (still do!) Love your cards, and will be checking back often. Will check to see if I can become a follower. I'm not posting cards at the moment(if you read any of my posts you'll see why), but hopefully, will be again real soon. Looking forward to 'getting to know you'. My DH also loves cars (old ones). TFS
