A+ Teacher

I decided to try another one-layer card. One of my friends just won "Teacher of the Year" at our school.  So this card is for her. When I first met her about 4 years ago, she was looking for a new hobby.  I introduced her to card making, and she's been hooked ever since!
I am participating at the Online Card class - and the technique I used is "Optical Illusion" - masking
I decided to look around for a "sketch" and found this at Pals Paper Arts . I don't know if you can see the embossed  lines around the panel of the books.  Then I used spica gel pens to give the "layers" a bit more definition.
I made this card first:
I am not sure which I like better.  I think if my masking was better on this card, it would be my favorite.  What do you think?
This will also fit for the challenge at Less is More - which is to use "3 of something".  There are 3 books, and 3 red sequins and 3 gold sequins (on the top card).
Thanks so much for looking.  I love your comments.  Consider following.

  4. Both cards are adorable! So very cute! Thanks for sharing with us over at Pals Paper Arts!

  5. Hi Carol,
I like both of the cards, but I think I prefer the second one.
With the books in the "extra-layer" on the right side it looks more like a bookshelf. - Cool effect!

  6. I think I like the first one the best. Both great cards though. I love your multi coloured books and your alphabet background. Vx

  7. I'm sorry I was MIA as far as commenting was concerned during my recent holiday in Australia, but hopefully I'll now be back up to speed once more!
    This is just great Carol!
    Thanks so much

  8. Both cards look great Carol but maybe the first just has the edge. Bet your friend loved it too :) Viv xx
