Happy Happy Birthday

 

I've seen many beautiful cards made with balloon stencils.  So I had to give it a try.  These were sooo much fun to make.  And easy too!

The 30th birthday is for my niece.  

Products: 

• ink - distress oxides
• stencil - neat and tangled
• die cuts --  varied (happy, 30, birthday)
• polka dot paper - unknown

A Pocketful of Thanks

My best friend made and sewed some pockets for my 90 year old mother-in-law's day dresses.  And I wanted to make a thank you card for her.  Thanks, Virginia!!

Thanks to the challenge at Double Trouble I found a recipe for today's card:

From Thing 1 - Trouble Maker

Ingredients:  3 - Colors 

                       2 - Embellishments   

                       1 - Seasoned Stamped Sentiment  (clear or rubber stamp more than one year old)

and from Thing 3 - Twisted Sister  use the Sketch from  Retro Rubber 
"Let's get straight to the point. From my point of view, I see a sketch with sharp angles so here's MY angle: Using the sketch, create a project using at least one angular shape without round corners, i.e., triangles, quadrilaterals such as square, rectangle, parallelogram, rhombus, etc.  That's my angle and I'm sticking to it!"  

The pocket is a pentagon -- no rounded corners. 

and from THING 2:  Double Dare  - The stamp set from W+ 9 (pocket and sentiment) is very old -- I think it dates back to 2012.

So I'm also putting this into Retro Rubber

And also into

This is for a friend who is retiring from teaching.  She loves horseback riding in her free time.

Father's Day

This is for my hubby for Father's Day.  He is REALLY  into cars -- of all types.  The stamps, word stamp-die, and flame stencil are all from HoneyBee Stamps. The wood frame die is from Hero Arts.  The stamping is embossed in sliver, and I colored the car with distress inks.

One Flower, Two Flower, Three Flower, Four . . .

I LOVE this stamp set from Gina K / Hero Arts. I actually ended up making a total of 6 different cards with this set.  And I think I have more ideas in my head. :)

But let me get to these cards.
The two end cards were stamped with versamark on light gray cardstock.  Then colored with color pencils. I used the frame dies to cut the outer rectangle and the inner rectangle.  The rectangle pieces are all "inlaid". 

For the center card, I water colored the flowers.  Then I hand cut them for the sketch from The Fusion Card Challenge.

I wish I could take pictures that justify these cards.  Especially the one on the far right.  My hubby truly supports my hobby and dutifully looks at my cards when I show him. But this time, when I showed it to him, he really ooooed and ahhhhhed, and fully examined them.  

Here are two more cards, made in a similar way, but with different colors (dark gray and mauve foil cardstocks).

Just Because

I recently got this stamp set, and it called out for watercolors.  I stamped it with Tea Dye Distress ink. Then water colored it.  I made a stencil/mask with a die from MFT, and used that to sponge a blue background around the flowers.

baby baby

My new neighbors just had a baby girl.  We found out about it, when we drove by and saw 2 people (a new grandma and a new aunt) wearing masks, visiting by standing outside the front door.  The new Daddy was standing inside holding a little bundle of pink. So sad and happy.  A story for the time.
