FRIENDS

Back story:
As a "supportive" wife, I sometimes attend car shows with my husband.  This usually involves his car, some lawn chairs, and a book for me.  He and I walk around once together, look at all the cars.  Then I go back to our car, and read - while he goes around again, and again, and again - looking over all the cars in some detail, and talking to all the other motor heads.

One summer evening we went to a car show by the beach.  One of my hub's friends showed up with his wife.  My book for that night was actually a Stampin Up catalog.  I had not yet met Karin.  But she was interested in learning about my stamping and scrapbooking hobby.

Long story, short -- we started taking Scrapbook classes together; and have become good paper-crafting friends.  She makes the most amazing scrapbook pages -- all lace and layers.

Karin occasionally buys double of things (so do I) and cleans out her craft room.  I sometimes get the benefit of this.  Yesterday, her hubby dropped of a bag of goodies -- which I used some of to create this card for her.  The paper and stamps were all from Karin.

Card Information:
I used the Hero Arts large lotus background stamp, stamped with Versamark and clear embossed on the text paper.  Then I sponged distress inks over the clear embossing.  I cut this panel, and layered a piece of gray dot paper underneath. Then layered this onto the green paper.  I can't tell you any of the paper companies, as they were loose papers.  The circle and FRIENDS stamps are by Technique Tuesday.  I stamped the circle on acetate with Stazon and cut that out.  "Friends" was white embossed and layered onto the clear acetate.  Then added this with pop dots.

I used the sketch from CASE this Sketch and the  flower burst from Runway Challenge

The colors are from Color Throwdown

And at A Blog Named Hero the challenge is to use layers or dimension on your card.

Thanks so much for looking and taking the time to comment.  I learn so much from your comments -- about crafting, blogging, and about you!!  Thanks to Darnell's comment, I learned how to fix my contact information.  Thanks, Darnell!
