Poinsettia Thank You

I wanted to create a special Xmas thank you card for a friend.  This is for her.

The stamps are old "Outlines" - that I watercolored with Mica watercolors, and cut out.  The paper is NEW from a holiday set made by DCWV that I got on clearance the other day. I was really bummed that the water color of the bottom layer of flowers smudged as I adhered it onto the green base .  Ugh -- but I wasn't going to do it again.

I am putting this into the Just Us Girls Word Week Challenge.

I am also entering this into the Fusion Card Challenge I am just using the photo for inspiration.  The paper pack was marketed as a snow flake color pack.  But the back sides of many of the pages had this great wood grain pattern -- I just loved that!

Well that's all for now.  Back to work tomorrow -- I really enjoyed the time off.  I guess I won't get to do much creating for a while - :(
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Have a great New Year!

  1. Fabulous layers Carol! So glad you joined in the fun @ FUSION! Love to see you join in the 2nd Anniversary Challenge starting on Thursday 7th January too!

  2. I don't know, if the smudges are what I think they are, it looks like they belong there! Your card is lovely and sure to be appreciated by your friend! The coloring is gorgeous!

  4. Oh gosh, I have those poinsettia stamps as well! I used them on an ornament that I hang on my tree every year! I love how you used them on this card! Very pretty! Thanks for playing with Just Us Girls!

  5. Lovely layers and wonderful shimmer, Carol ... this gorgeous poinsettia is fabulous against the woodgrain background! Thanks so much for coming by! Anita :)

  6. I'm a bit late coming by to see this, Carol, but I'm happy I didn't miss this drop-dead gorgeous poinsettia! I think you were robbed not winning either of the challenges with this fantastic creation! I'm sure your friend will bring it out year after year as a part of her Christmas decor!! Hugs, Darnell
