WOYWW and My Crafting Space

This is my current craft space: my dining room table.  I love it because I have a sliding door overlooking my backyard, it is bright, and I am right in the middle of the house -- near my hubby when he is watching TV.
But it is a pain when I have company for dinner or such, as I  have to scurry all this away into my bedroom.  And if you are seated at the table it is not very pleasant to look at this wall of stuff (I cover it in towels to prevent the sun damaging the papers and stamps).

This is the "wall of stuff", with the table partially set for a family dinner this past Sunday. Isn't the view great?? (NOT!)  The wall of stuff spills over onto the chairs and floors.  I do think I have hoarder tendencies and  some OCD with purchasing stuff - do we all in this hobby?
Here is where my new craft room will be.  This was my oldest's son's bedroom - of course it wasn't this lovely shade of aqua - it was black and gray sponged, with a maroon rug -- hmmm - his man-cave! Not anymore!!  :)

It's not in the middle of everything, and it doesn't have the great view and sunlight.  I will miss those.  But I can have family for dinner without the hassle of major clean up.

I've already started putting my ribbons in :)
Well, thanks for looking.  I hope to have this room complete, and my dining room reclaimed by our son's wedding in May.  Keep your fingers crossed!

  1. How lovely a new craft room you may not have as much sun light but you will have a space that is all yours enjoy

  2. Love the new craft room, it will be amazing when you have it just how you want it! I have used your dining room pic as an example for my husband, who wants me to not have a craft room when we move, he wants me to use part of the new living room....NO! So I thank you for sharing the pic, it has been most useful and inspiring. Happy WOYWW Cx #84

  3. Having your own room to craft in is really nice. I took over a bedroom when my granddaughter moved out (she was thrilled to come back and find Grandma's arts and crafts room, and it's the first place she goes at my house.)
Just be sure you leave room to close the door. LOL! My joke is always that "I have to clean my craft room". It may get reorganized, but it will never be "clean". Good luck in your new space, and there is nothing like a wedding, and guests in your house to get things in order. I have had 2 wedding receptions in my back yard, and for each of them I did a make over of a couple rooms with fresh paint, and curtains, sometimes furniture, etc. Good luck.

  4. The trick is to only invite crafters to dinner carol, I’m sure they would be only too happy to sit and view all your stash, Lol!
Mind you, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be too long before you’re in your new room.

    Happy Crafting!
