Birthday Balloons

My younger son will be 27 this weekend, so this is for him.  I used the CAS Friday color challenge and the Clean and Simple sketch challenge for this card.

Diva's by Design has a challenge to make something for a birthday.

Supplies used:
stamps, die, & cardstock: PTI (Paper Trey Ink)
pattern paper: Momenta
other: glossy accents (on balloons), baker's twine

Thanks for looking.

Less is More 78 and JUGS 147

Just Us Girls has a gorgeous photo as inspiration this week.  Since I am a very literal person, I wanted to do justice to do this picture.  I used this sketch from Less is More

I scored the space, then using stipple brushes created the background with Adirondeck inks.  The leaf-flower image was a mixture of stamps from Whipper Snapper, Stampendous, and Inkadinkadoo.

I stamped the butterfly from PaperTreyInk with Staz-On onto acteate, and colored the back of it with Copic Markers.  I added some white dots with a gel pen to the front, and added the pearls (colored those with a black copic).

I liked how Giovanna created this white on white border, so I used her idea.

Thanks for looking.

Happiness

I loved this sketch from Red Hot Stampers, and needed to make a card for my son and his girlfriend (for their new apartment).  The colors are from Clean and Simple Fridays and the Color Throwdown Challenge 202 . The middle of the butterfly has a bit of the Rich Razzleberry on it.

Supplies used:
Pattern paper: Imaginisce
Blue cardstock: Stampin Up (sponged with blues and white to create background)
Stamps: butterfly-Paper Trey Ink (PTI); sentiment: Stampin Up

I embossed the butterfly in silver and then colored it with Shimmerz, and added some pearls.
Thanks for looking.

Introductions

So here finally is my first post.  I have been a "card-maker" for over 4 years now.  And I started scrap-booking a few years before that.

I am a full time 6th grade science teacher (which I absolutely Love!).

I have a terrific hubby who supports my hobby (more on that perhaps in later posts), and 2 sons.  One is already out of the house (engaged to a lovely young woman).  The other just signed a lease, and will also soon be out of the house.

So here I am - with a bit of free time on my hands.  This is an old photo - there is now another full shelf to the right of the existing piles. My crafting space is my dining room.  Perhaps soon I will take over my son's room to be my craft room (happy, happy, joy, joy),
