Maritime Box

I have a new "grand-nephew" - some of you will say "great-nephew" -- but my students love "grand nephew" and have dubbed me his "Grant" (grand-aunt) -- which is really kind of cute.

Caleb was born very premature, at 26 weeks gestation. He weighed 1 1/2 pounds.  Now at 6 weeks old, he is still tiny - only 2 1/2 pounds - but doing decently.  He has a very long way to go!

My niece's baby shower is this weekend.  Caleb's room decor will be nautical.  My sister wanted a box to go with his decor.  Now Joann's has beautiful nautical boxes, but she wanted me to make one.  So here it is.

The papers are from StampinUp's new catalog.  Love them!

The box is a photo box from ACMoore.  The embellishment on top is from JoAnn's.  It took quite a bit to get the measurements for the layers on this, ink the edges, and mitre the corners on the top piece.
Now I just need to make a card to go along with this.  :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - I certainly fulfilled that part!
2. A Sprinkle of Imagination - June Color Challenge:

3. Jellypark Challenge has a seaside/nautical/beach theme

4. Craft My Life - anything goes, but NO CARDS - well this is really a first for me

Here are photos of Caleb and the proud parents, and me with Caleb.

Thanks so much for looking.
