Happy Birthday (NBUS #4)

For the house-warming party I am having tomorrow -- many of the women attending are card-makers -- and they would probably love to be crafting more than partying -- or in reality they'd like to do both :)

So I thought I'd treat them to a "make and take"  -- I again used the colors from Color Throwdown ; and the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday but I rotated it.

I "kitted" this card in both the caribbean blue (seen here) and in the pink -- to offer my friends a choice (or make both!)  I'll try to get some pix of the gang and the cards they made.

I can't believe I made 2 cards in one evening (more if you count the kits I made) -- hubby is at his car club meeting and I got to play!  woop woop!

Supplies:
Paper: cardstock - PTI; patterned paper: Bazzil
Stamp: by Judith
other: Spica pen, and stickles

Gnome Sweet Gnome (NBUS #3)

I am have having a surprise house-warming (or re-warming) party for a friend who is finally moving back into her house after "Superstorm" Sandy (it was no longer technically a hurricane when she hit LI last October - but, boy the damage she did!).
She is thrilled to be back home, but everything needs to be replaced.  She has the essentials (a bed!), but is realizing all the little things that are needed . . .

Here is a photo of the inside:

I used the colors from the Color Throwdown and the sketch from The Paper Players

I think she will like it, and be surprised by the party!

Supplies:
Paper: cardstock: Marco's paper, pattern paper: My Mind's eye
Stamps: Gnome and outside sentiment: Recollections; inside sentiment: Gina K
other: Nestibilities; embellishments from Joann's

Now I have a question for Darnell and anyone else using their Never Been Used Stuff (NBUS):  How are you keeping "count" - is it by the stamp or by the card?  hmmmm - ah well -- I guess it doesn't really matter as long as we USE it!

As always, thanks for looking

Paper Trey Ink: Make It Monday 122 - Polka Dot Texture

This is for my niece's birthday -- she absolutely loves horses.  Her birthday is this week (nothing like waiting till the last minute).  So when I saw the Polka Dot Make it Monday at Paper Trey , I knew I had to make an appaloosa horse.

I used the colors from the CAS Colours challenge and the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments :

I am also linking this card to Card Makin Mamas: On the Farm challenge and since many teenagers love horses (my niece started when she was about 10), I will link this to Addicted to CAS: teenager

I love summer vacation!!!
thanks for looking

supplies:
stamps: PTI
paper: PTI and core'dinations
ink: Stampin Up - -horse die cut, then colored with copics

Only One You

For my sister's birthday -- I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches which is such a nice sketch to make simple or complex.
The 2 Sisters Challenge is "Summer Fun" , and all of the stamps are NBUS (never been used stuff)  - term complements of Darnell - but she, of course, has her own unique way of spelling this :)

This is not my favorite work, but it will have to do -- as I did spend way too much time getting all the masking done.

supplies:
  • stamps: fish ($1. stamps), birthday hat, and Only one You sentiment (S Up), Happy birthday sentiment (PTI), seaweed (StarvingArtist); school of fish (Dylusions)  -- all of these were NBUS
  • Paper, ink, and ribbon: PTI and S Up
Today is my first day of summer vacation.  Woo Hoo!
As always, thanks for looking!

Need for Speed

While "Need for Speed" is the title of the challenge over at Less is More - I apparently was not speedy enough to get my card in before the challenge was over.  Oh well - - my friends will like it anyway.  Our husbands met over some classic car shows (each guy has an old hot rod), and she and I bonded over paper crafting -- she likes to scrapbook, I make cards.  His car is a bright yellow, and her favorite colors are peach and aqua.
This is also for the Transportation Challenge at Simon Says Stamp - which I am in time for :)   I love the eyelashes on the girl car!!

While this isn't really a "travel" card, I think perhaps it will qualify for CAS-ual Fridays Mapquest Challenge

The car stamps are from Sparkle and Sprinkle - the hearts are from Gina K - I am not sure about the sentiment

Thanks for looking -- hope your day and night are going great!

Happy I Do Day

My son and new daughter-in-law's wedding was last Saturday.  We had a GREAT time -- I am still talking about it and going over pictures! Here is the happy couple during their first dance.

Here is the card I made for them:

I copied Linda's card seen here .

I still have out-of state company, and the get-togethers continue this weekend.  I hope to be able to really start creating cards again soon.

In the meantime, I am on a high of the wedding festivities and all the family fun!

Hope you are having a great day!
