Paper Trey January Blog Hop Challenge

I made this for the Paper Trey Ink January Blog Hop - Challenge of Black Backgounds.

One of my very first ever card classes used the technique I used here: embossed in clear, and colored with Perfect Pearls.  It was great to pull these out again -- and the nice thing about Perfect Pearls is that because they are powder, they don't "go bad". I don't know if the shine and shimmer really shows up in the photo, but IRL they are quite pretty.  I added a few dots with a white gel pen (not sure if I really needed that).  But once they were there, I couldn't take them off.   It is kind of like Darnell's Washi Tape debacle that you can read about.

I used the sketch from The Paper Players , but rotated  it; and the colors from Color Throwdown

supplies:
Paper: PTI (black and lavendar moon)
Stamps: flower - friendship jar; sentiment - A wreath for all seasons
Other: versamark, clear embossing powder, perfect pearls, ribbon, white gel pen

WOYWW and My Crafting Space

This is my current craft space: my dining room table.  I love it because I have a sliding door overlooking my backyard, it is bright, and I am right in the middle of the house -- near my hubby when he is watching TV.
But it is a pain when I have company for dinner or such, as I  have to scurry all this away into my bedroom.  And if you are seated at the table it is not very pleasant to look at this wall of stuff (I cover it in towels to prevent the sun damaging the papers and stamps).

This is the "wall of stuff", with the table partially set for a family dinner this past Sunday. Isn't the view great?? (NOT!)  The wall of stuff spills over onto the chairs and floors.  I do think I have hoarder tendencies and  some OCD with purchasing stuff - do we all in this hobby?
Here is where my new craft room will be.  This was my oldest's son's bedroom - of course it wasn't this lovely shade of aqua - it was black and gray sponged, with a maroon rug -- hmmm - his man-cave! Not anymore!!  :)

It's not in the middle of everything, and it doesn't have the great view and sunlight.  I will miss those.  But I can have family for dinner without the hassle of major clean up.

I've already started putting my ribbons in :)
Well, thanks for looking.  I hope to have this room complete, and my dining room reclaimed by our son's wedding in May.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Make It Monday 101 - Layered Embossing

I wanted to try the technique showed at Paper Trey Ink Make it Monday . I mostly masked the medallions.  But the small yellow one in the corner is "layered".   I colored them with color pencils, and used stickles and Viva Decor pearl pens to add some dimension to the dots.
The colors are from Play Date Cafe

Edited: The sketch is from Sketch Frenzy Friday

The stamps and paper are from PTI.  I used a pink embossing powder.  For the purple and yellow medallions, I used the color pigment ink and clear embossing powder.
This will be for a friend who will be having back surgery next week.  Does it count in the Less is More Friend Challenge ?

I'll also count this in 52 Card Pick Up - a challenge to make one card a week.

Thanks so much for looking!

Make It Monday #99 - Repeats and Rainbows

I really love Paper Trey Ink products.  I wish I had half the creativity of one of these terrific designers. But, I really enjoy the crafting . . . knowing that I will have  the relaxation and pleasure of creating is what keeps me going through my work week. I just wish weekends were longer. . . . Ah well.
Here is my creation for this week's Make It Monday #99. I also drew a frame around from an old Make It Monday Line Frame .
I choose combination #6, but  moved the arrangement a bit, so I could have the Raspberry Fizz in the middle.

supplies:
  • paper: PTI
  • stamps: PTI
  • other: Viva Decor Pearl Pen, sticles
  • ink: S Up
  • As
As always, thanks for looking.  And next weekend, I have an extra day off.  Woo Hoo!
